Sel Allen Dies in California
Solomon Allen, longtime Washington resident, died last Tuesday at his daughter’s home in California. The body was cremated and the ashes will be interred here later. Mr. Allen moved away several months ago and had been feeble in old age.

League Names Chas. Goodin New Secretary
Charlies Goodin is elected as avcro tary of the Washington chapter of the Izaak Walton League succeeding Rev. C. W. Klein who moved to Moltie. Fire kills five women in Rockford toy shop blast
Five women died when a spark ignited celluloid at the Sutton Toy Shop in Rockford Illinois. Mary Wallack Mrs Envis Stromdahl and Mary Lillie 40 were among the dead. Nine others injured and eight survivors escaped through flames and fumes from the second floor. John Sutton the owner was burned while attempting rescue as fire swept the building in the downtown district.
