Experimental home built airplane by local men
Four local men led by Bob Swift built an experimental home built airplane using a modified plan with air craft quality materials. The plane features a rebuilt Lycoming engine delivering 115 horsepower, bare skeleton fuselage, and night flying equipment. It will be taxi tested and flown for 50 hours before passengers, then displayed at the Flight Breakfast on June 1 at no admission, with breakfast available for a dollar and children under eight for fifty cents.

Children are asked to bring flowers for veterans graves and families are urged to place small American flags on graves before or on Memorial Day. Municipal Band program at Central Park includes God Bless America American Patrol March and Star Spangled Banner with Roy Hodges narrating the Ceremony of Allegiance.
