The store announces further cuts on textiles with silk finish all wool henriettas dropping from 50 cents to 46 cents and all wool serges from 50 cents to 46 cents. Henriettas and serges priced at 65 cents fall to 58 cents, with similar reductions across other dress goods and additional offers to follow.
Rev. S. H. Givier at the Christian Church preached on patriotism from II Tim. 3 3-4, praising bravery prudence and obedience as core patriot traits. He warned against ignorant ballots and urged knowledge guiding votes and laws and urged loyalty to both country and kingdom. He closed urging the Star of Bethlehem over the flag for guidance.
At the last court term details emerge of Albert McKinstry accused of stealing a harness from Morgan. He fled toward Kansas but was stopped by Sheriff Teeter with paraphernalia, bonds set at 1900. The piece also notes Prof Mackin concert events and the death of Walter Quinton Gresham, former secretary of state in Cleveland's cabinet.

Reports from Crawfordsville May 27 describe Co I0. assembling at the Armory at 11 sharp for Dress parade. Correspondent Mrs. Ferguson’s condition worsens with life despaired. Rev. McAuley and Rev. McCleery speak at churches, with plans for September departure. Community events include a Presbyterian festival and a Schuetzen Park excursion announcement.
The Brighton team intended to play here Wednesday but sent word they cannot come. They will try to reschedule for next week, avoiding a planned game with Washington after last week's defeat at Brighton. Numerous attendees and registrants from cities including Chicago Davenport and Burlington listed.
A band excursion is planned for June 5 with a Burlington baseball game that day. Attendees may stay in Burlington or travel to Ft Madison by steamer, returning the same evening. Train times to be announced. The trip is described as very affordable.
