Washington School Board Gives 12 and 10 Percent Pay Raises
The Washington School District board finalized wage settlements Wednesday night granting non certified employees a 12 percent increase and administrators 10 percent. The package covers 75 staff including secretaries, custodians, cooks, maintenance, bus drivers and central office officials. Administrators will implement a management objectives system next year for self evaluation and board guidance. Substitutes get a raise from 21 to 25 dollars per day. The board also approved course expansions at the junior high, combined two part time nursing positions into a four fifths time role, and set plans for Summer School. Teachers will vote May 30 on whether the Washington Education Association becomes their official bargaining unit.
