City drafts three year street program amid corrected figures
The Evening Journal corrects and clarifies its Tuesday report on Washington's public works plan. Only 1975 paving and widening on S Second Ave E Main St W 11th St E 11th St 8 F Ave N Marion Ave and N Second Ave are planned, with remainder slated for 1976 77 and 78. The 1975 paving totals 1 259 miles with a 195 647 cost, not 673 000 for three years. The 1975 storm sewer and water main work stands, but overall 1975 public works cost is about 361 000, not 838 000. The note also explains no surplus water funds exist and that water revenue bonds may be reissued instead. Normal maintenance on oiled streets will proceed. The Evening Journal apologizes for the errors.
