Hugh Nelson Dies at Fresno California
Lew Nelson of Fresno reports his father Hugh Nelson died yesterday morning in a Fresno hospital after a year of ill health. Born November 1 1848 in Washington County Iowa he married Minerva Barnes in 1881. Surviving: son Lew Nelson granddaughter Helen Schurr sister and brother in Iowa and several nieces and nephews. Two sons and a daughter are deceased along with six brothers and one sister. Nelson was a longtime member of the United Presbyterian Church of Fresno and valued for his devout Christian life.
