The day will start at 9 a.m. with old soldiers decorating graves at the cemetery. At 1 p.m. different societies and citizens gather at the park and proceed to the new cemetery for exercises. Addresses by Reys, Stark, Logue, Givler and others, with music by the band and Washington Glee Club.
The notice of election was deemed not legally solid, so today’s election is postponed indefinitely. Officials express regret that the election did not proceed and caution that further delays will make passage harder for the city.
Special to Journal Mr. Dayton father of Elrod Dayton once of Midland at Bridhton now Hotel Best Muscatine died last evening at nine. Funeral will be at 3 this afternoon. He was a long respected citizen.
A check for 3542 dollars issued to pay hands at Eldon on the CG R I P was taken from the ticket office window in broad daylight and later reportedly returned. No trace of the thief was found.
Monday Judge Dewey held court and admitted the will of A. W. Chilcote, made in February 1905, disposing of about $73,000 to heirs. Minor matters were settled and court will reconvene in two weeks for further business.

After a two week lull a marriage license was issued yesterday marking a rare wedding in Washington County. Frank Brenken aged 25 and Sophia E Patterson aged 32 were the couple joining in matrimony, ending the quiet spell.
The Washington Base Ball Club heads to Brighton tomorrow for a game. Several members cannot attend due to lack of practice, but the team believes they are prepared to face the opponent.
The 38 year old child of Elmer Gault died after brain surgery following a horse kick. At the funeral, the same horse reportedly kicked the father in the stomach. condition described as bad, source notes uncertainty about severity.
