Prohibitionists Meet in Washington County Assembly

About seventy five members of the Washington county Prohibitionists gathered at the Salvation Army Hall to organize for the upcoming campaign. State chairman B F Wright urged unity and postponed county ticket nominations and delegate elections until the next meeting. Nearby notes include a quaint social event and a baseball game, with High School defeating the Academy 11 to 5. Memorial Day guidance from the Grand Army of the Republic urged proper observance and religious services.

Two Washington entertainments by Brinton Brothers planned

Mr W F Brinton announces two grand entertainments in Washington featuring large historic scenes, music, comic sketches and a tiny star performer. Evening shows promise strong changes tomorrow night with 15 and 25 cent admission and free under 12 with parents. Also notes local society visits and community notices.

Iowa Cities Show Population Increases Since 1890

Census returns indicate general population growth in several Iowa towns led by Cedar Falls Os Kal… Oskaloosa and Webster City show notable gains. Washington and Muscatine post steady increases while Dubuque and Mt. Pleasant rise modestly. brick and sewer materials referenced alongside John Shields.

Band excursion and baseball game travel plan announced

The Band excursion is set for June 4 with a Burlington baseball game. Attendees may stay in Burlington or travel to Ft Madison by steamer, returning the same evening. Train times to be announced. The trip is advertised as economical.
