Four Burlington Women Injured in Crash Near Iowa City
Sheriff H. M Putnam received a report from State Patrolman Richard Hohl of West Liberty about a wreck on primary road 218 three miles south of the No 22 junction. Four Burlington women in a car owned by Dr. LaForce were injured when a tire blew out causing a rollover. all injuries were bruises and cuts. They were taken to University Hospital in Iowa City by passing motorists.

Slayers Sentenced to Life for Fort Madison Murder
Karl Davis Kenneth Caulk and Eugene Cooper all of Fort Madison were sentenced to life terms after confessing to beating Albert Decker to death with a crank. They robbed him of 400 dollars weighed his body with cement and dumped it in the Mississippi River. The crime occurred March 18. They faced possible death but the officers urged clemency.
