Sheriff's deputies investigated a burglary at the Ralph Graber home west of Washington with rifles and carbines missing after 5 p.m. Friday. police also checked a break in at the Waco Drive-In Theatre where a speaker post was damaged. Jefferson man dies in Dolliver State Park motorcycle crash
Six people died in Iowa traffic accidents over the weekend. Craig Ogren of Jefferson, 21, died from head injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car in Dolliver State Park near Fort Dodge. Passenger Paul Hostetler, 17, Jefferson, was treated and released. Car driver David Marvin, 24, Fort Dodge, and others escaped injury. An Oelwein man also died in a separate motorcycle crash Saturday night. President Ford plans to attend New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation presidential primary in March, drawing anticipation from small-business groups and NBC News’ David Brinkley.

Two Washington County health care projects received approval from the Health Facilities Construction Review Committee paving the way for construction. Halcyon House of Washington proposes a 17 bed nursing unit addition costing about 250000 with a completion target of October 1, 1976. Shenk Health Care center in Wellman plans rebuilding the original wing to modern standards with no cost estimate and hopes to finish by July 1, 1975. A Fish Day for handicapped children sponsored by the Izaak Walton League moved to Schoonover Pond on May 21, with food donations accepted at the Myron Salladay home until 10 a.m. that day.

Compromise Town Election Bill Advances In Iowa Senate
House leaders indicate they will accept the Senate compromise on town election law revisions. The plan removes day of election registration, allows post card/mail registration 25 days before an election, extends polling hours to 9 p.m., and increases mobile deputy registrars from one per 1 600 to one per 40. Senators Minette Doderer and GOP aides say the compromise eases voting access and represents mutual concessions. Governor Ray criticized the day-of-registration provision and would veto if kept.
