Monster Mushroom Tallest Record Seen by Hamilton
Harry Hamilton of White Oak near Brignton brought a 14 inch mushroom from Skunk river bottom to the Journal office. He said it was in perfect condition and stood upright visible from afar. Hamilton noted overflowed bottoms still yielded many mushrooms and that forty pounds were gathered quickly with many more nearby.

Woman 100 Years Old Dies in Toledo Iowa
Mrs. L. M. Rines aged 100, Tama county's oldest resident, died at her home in Toledo. Born in Onto she moved to Tama county in 1853 and reached 100 on March 4. Survived by three daughters a son and a brother timer KK Corfman former Utah Supreme Court judge now in Hollywood California.

Jessie Lee Burham died at home 426 South Second Avenue Tuesday night after a year and a half illness. Funeral by Stephens Funeral Home Columbus Junction Friday at 2 p m and burial in Columbus City Cemetery. He was born February 7, 1880 in West Chester and married Lela Myers September 17, 1934. He was a barber, lived in Washington County, and belonged to the Methodist church and Columbus Junction Masonic lodge. Survived by wife. parents, Nancy Jane Smithers Gutham and Perry Burham. two brothers Ed and Oscar Burham preceded in death.

Two Conesville Boys Die In Truck Crash
In Conesville near Columbus Junction on Highway 76 Virgil Crisp 13 and Harvey Bass 15 were killed when a car carrying Boy Scout members collided with a truck.
