Siding nitrogen in corn to offset wet planting delays
Iowa State University agronomist Regis Voss says sidedressing nitrogen can suit a shortened planting season and fertilizer shortages. Early sidedressing often matches or exceeds preplant results, with timing from emergence to five weeks after emergence, while avoiding seed injury and weed tradeoffs. Cooperate with neighbors and dealers to fit equipment and material limits while considering herbicide timing and row spacing.
