A Washington County District Court jury awarded $10,600 to Matthias Trabert for rent due on about 400 acres near Brighton. The Stouts Jesse and Steve countered with $16,114 for alleged contract breaches. Interest at 7 percent from Nov 1, 1973 is included. The trial opened May 4 and ran five days. Muscatine hospital bond passes with 78 percent approval
In Muscatine Iowa voters approved a $1.8 million bond to finish financing a $4 million renovation of Muscatine General Hospital. Turnout was 26 percent with 3 259 votes for and 1 170 against, above the 60 percent required. County Supervisors had already approved remaining funds last fall.

Two Men Plan Hidden Iowa City Marriage License
Ken Bunch a 24 year old University Hospitals custodian and Tracy Bjorgum a 20 year old University of Iowa student applied Tuesday for a Johnson County marriage license and await a court opinion on legality. If approved the license would be issued Friday after a three day waiting period.

Aftershocks Hit Friuli Region Killing and Damaging

Holden faults lengthy Iowa legislature amid 1976 election push

Tom Bauer Named to UI Broadcast News Coordinator Post
Thomas K. Bauer has been appointed Broadcast News Coordinator for the University of Iowa Office of Public Information and University Relations. He will direct broadcast media activities and begin the post May 15. Bauer, an assistant professor in the School of Journalism, joined UI in 1971 after working as a reporter and newscaster for WHBF and WMT. He teaches broadcast journalism and news editing, led WMT's statehouse bureau, and holds degrees from UI. He serves as Iowa Broadcast News Association secretary-treasurer and resides in Coralville with his wife Sandra and two sons.
