Senate approves lower speeding fines in Iowa vote

Great Auk bones found near Seabrook New Hampshire
New Hampshire Archaeological Society crews uncovered bones of a Great Auk, a flightless bird extinct since 1844, about 1,000 yards from the Seabrook nuclear plant site. Harvard curator Dr. Raymond Paynter identified the bones, with dates undetermined, marking the first NH coast evidence of the species.

Des Moines UPI report states the Iowa House Ethics Committee accepted an apology from the Iowa Radio Network after statehouse reporter Don Silcott allegedly left a tape recorder in a closed Democratic caucus room.
