Three Die On Iowa Highways Over Weekend
Iowa Highway Patrol reports three fatalities on state roads during the weekend. Rachel Bougher 33 and her 14-year-old son David Holtman died Saturday when their car was struck by a Chicago Rock Island and Pacific engine and dragged 1,500 feet. The boy was trapped. Darla Hogard 14 of Buffalo Center was killed when a car driven by 17-year-old Craig Carson hit her bicycle on a northern Buffalo Center road.

Keokuk Fire Destroys Two-Story Building
Fire gutted a two story building near downtown Keokuk injuring eight residents who fled to safety. Jerry Ott 20 started the blaze by igniting a grease fire in his kitchen and helped rescue 83 year old Charles Carter as flames spread through the roof leaving the upper floor a total loss.
