Democrats Reach Compromise on Human Resources Funds
Iowa Democrats chart a compromise on human resources spending for 1975-76. They back about 39.2 million for ADC aid, above Gov. Flood crest near Quad Cities area rises with Mississippi River
In Moline and Davenport volunteers and civil defense crews fill sandbags and raise a four foot dike along River Drive to shield industries as the Mississippi River spills toward Quad Cities. Davenport hits 15.5 feet, just above flood stage, while Moline sits near 13.5 feet. Don Bobb warns Sunday will bring higher levels. Pumps run along the railroad to manage runoff.
