James Patterson of Wellman was found innocent by Municipal Court Judge Willard Dullard on a March 25 charge of interfering with a police officer at the John Morrell Packing Plant in Ottumwa. Republicans to hold caucuses next week across county
Washington County Republicans will hold precinct caucuses throughout the county next week, most on Thursday evening May 7. County GOP chairman Joe H. Jones says rural meetings start at 8:30 p.m. at regular places unless changed by precinct leaders. A single car of a 135 car Milwaukee Railroad train derailed near Conesville Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. trapping the car on the tracks after an axle burned through. The loaded hides were unharmed and no injuries were reported as repairs limited damage to the tracks.
