Betty Lee daughter of Mr and Mrs John Lee died in her crib while asleep at two months of age. She is survived by her parents a brother and her grandparents.

Fort Dodge physician performed a minor operation to extract a safety pin swallowed a week earlier by Calvin Zauge year old son of Mr and Mrs Cornelius Zauge of West Bend. The pin was removed from the stomach without complications.

A false holdup report helped save a Dubuque family but left Deputy Sheriff Mike Konzen seriously wounded when his .38 revolver discharged while he was putting on a bulletproof vest. The bullet pierced his leg, breaking a bone and severing an artery. The sheriff informed the Konzen family at home.
