Iowa homestead credits total over seven million dollars
Iowa home stead owners will receive 7,187,274.71 in homestead credits against their real estate taxes for the first half of taxes levied in 1943 and payable in 1944, the tax commission announced. The second half due by Sept. 1 will be about the same, the commission estimates. The first half credits are 121,821.79 higher than last year's 7,065,452.92 and homestead valuations rose from 606,587,473 to 612,119,431.

Des Moines OPA district reports two injunctions in Linn county court against Edwin L. Wathan of Cedar Rapids for a short 2053 gallons in his gas account on Dec 9 1943 and Kenneth W. At Leon Beatty post meeting Ed Squire was appointed to contact groups about sponsoring high school boys for the Boys State encampment June 4 to 11.
