Abert Beckner aged 26 and Lloyd Selby 20, trusties from Anamecia reformatory, were found hiding in two cars in a Marion garage after a pursuit by Iowa highway patrolmen Sergt. W. R. Eicher and Patrolman M. G. Swords. The break was the fourth from the reformatory this year, with others recaptured within 36 hours.

Jane Anne Rice two year old daughter of Pvt Quin cy Rice died at her Delta home about seven o clock this morning. The family had lived in Wellman for years with Mr Kies as bookkeeper at Maplecrest turkey plant. Funeral arrangements were not completed awaiting Pvt Rice's arrival from Camp Dodge. Jane Anne Rice was born in Wellman in June 1941 and is survived by an older sister and brother Laurel and Merri Livid as well as maternal and paternal grandparents in Delta. Private Rice was located at Camp Dodge this morning with Red Cross help and a Keokuk county Red Cross chair telephoned the draft board for information.
