Brighton Runaway Accident Fatal Risk to Oscar Davidson
The Brighton area reports a runaway carriage incident about 10 o clock this forenoon injuring Oscar Davidson a 20 year old man whose parents live northeast of Washington He was thrown and appears to have suffered possibly fatal injuries doctors warn his condition may be grave His brother sister and brother in law Sam Anderson traveled to Brighton later this afternoon by local freight train to visit him with the family rumour of an earlier visit to seek a girl noted.

Washington county horseman injured in runaway incident
Martin Swift Sr a famed horseman from Washington County east of the city had a serious mishap while leading a frisky horse. His hand got caught in the halter rope dragging him, with bruises to his knee thigh face and nose and a deep cut over his left eye with arterial bleeding. Surgical aid saved him with a narrow margin. Neighbors report he rests well and recovery looks favorable.

Hogsci fall injuries at Havre reported
Yesterday afternoon while loading hogs in the stock yards at Havre William Steward of Babcock and Stewart sustained a deep head wound after a fall from the chute railing caused by blinding steam from an engine. He was transported to Crawfordsville for stitching and is sore but able to sit up this morning.

Yesterday afternoon from two to four and three to five Mrs Will Chilcote Jr hosted eighty five guests in honor of her sister Mrs Wright of Monmouth Illinois and niece Miss McIntire of Hastings Nebraska. In the receiving line were Mrs Chilcote Mrs Wright and Miss McIntire. Mrs Steck Mrs Stone Mrs Slocum and Miss Smythe presided in the dining room where refreshments were served. It was one of the social events of the season and was much enjoyed by all.
