State Conservation Commission Sets 1950 Catch Limits
The Conservation Commission adopted broad rules for the 1950 fishing season, extending open seasons to February 15, 1951 for all but trout which closes November 30. Size limits removed for most species, daily limits eliminated, with same possession limits. Opening dates unchanged from 1949: catfish April 15, trout May 7, walleyes May 6–15, others May 6–15. bass and sunfish June 1. Largemouth and smallmouth bass 10 inch minimum. sand sturgeon 1 pound minimum. All other fish kept. Special lake regulations remain in effect for five lakes crossing Iowa and Minnesota.

Farm Fire Destroys Barn At Keota Farm
A fire at 2:00 this morning on Bernard Greiner's Keota farm destroyed a corn crib with over 1000 bushels of corn. The blaze damaged the farmhouse roof slightly. Three fire trucks responded and prevented damage to other outbuildings.

Funeral for Ellsworth Ewing Set for Saturday
Funeral services for Ellsworth Ewing will be held Saturday at 1 30 PM at Sherman’s funeral home with interment in Elm Grove cemetery. Ewing died Wednesday night at his home 109 West Taylor Street after years of declining health. He was born November 12 1873 in Xenia Ohio, the son of David and Irene Ewing, and lived much of his life in Washington. He is survived by brother Charles Ewing of Lincoln Nebraska and sisters Dora Ewing of Lincoln and Mrs D A Sutherland of Portland Oregon.
