Olsen, 76, died in a Fort Dodge hospital from burns from a house fire at his Goldfield area farm. Neighbors rescued him from the blaze, but he was alone in the home when it burned Monday night.
DES MOINES senate vote 14 to 30 preserves a provision prohibiting state patrolmen in labor disputes except at the governor or mayor request. The outcome keeps the current limits on patrol deployment in such disputes.
Funeral services for 94 year old John N. Coleman of Fredericksburg are set after his death from pneumonia. Coleman was the last Civil War veteran in Chickasaw County and leaving three sons and two daughters as survivors.

John R. Atchison about 60 died this morning at his Beaver Falls home after a period of illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Sherman’s Funeral Home with Rev. A. M. Malcolm of Albia presiding. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery. He was born in Albia Town and lived in Washington for about 20 years before moving to Beaver Falls three years ago. Surviving are one brother Rev R. H. Atchison of Rimersburg and two sisters Mrs Bruce Gobble of Fairfield and Miss Alice Atchison of Beaver Falls. also two uncles and a cousin in Washington.
Ralph Pratt sold the equipment in the Winfield Wis theater and leased the theater yesterday to E. H. Tompkins of Knoxville. The theater has been part of Winfield since 1915 and Pratt operated it during his residence there and after moving here.

Alpheus Schabillon 63 a Davenport resident died at his home at 6 this morning after a short illness influenza and mastoid trouble. Born December 1 1885 in Columbus City he married Ethel Pine. Survived by wife three sons Otto Norman and Gene two daughters James Drienich and Rena one granddaughter five brothers and three sisters. Funeral and burial will be in Columbus City.
The Iowa House approved a bill to advertise the state's industries by a 57 to 43 vote after Senate approval. If enacted it would cost about 150000 dollars annually. Rep. David A. Dancer led the push while Rep. Dewey Good labeled it another farmer tax.
