Coroner Reports Death At North Western Bridge
Coroner Harold Hennessey of Missouri Valley reports the body of John Conger, 64, found at the North Western railroad bridge over the Little Sioux River a mile north of town. He apparently missed his step on the trestle and fell about 20 feet to the bank, dying instantly.

Switchman Crushed in Railroad Accident
SIOUX CITY H H J Muldowney 52, a railroad switchman for the Omaha line, was crushed to death in the engine boxcar coupling. His body was found upright by engineer Chris Larsen. New NYA Woodwork Classes Start At Old Lincoln School
A large group of Washington county youths aged 17 to 24 have occupied the old Lincoln school building to be trained in woodwork under Jake Roth of Wayland. The project, part of the National Youth Administration, runs for months and uses rooms rent-free with heat and lighting paid by NYA participants. The board plans to dispose of the building soon, so the NYA setup may move. About 50 enrolled now, with 65 to 75 expected. work begins mid next week with machines supplied by the federal government. Initial tasks include cabinet work, refinishing, and later metal work. Public bodies may request completed projects by supplying materials. Mattresses for county Farm Bureau will be made upstairs, with 120 cotton mattresses planned.
