Hijacked TWA Jet Diverts to Havana With Lenora Lintz Onboard
Lenora Lintz, a Trans World Airlines stewardess and Crawfordsville native, reported at 4 a.m. that a hijacker forced the Oakland takeoff jet to Havana. The plane carried 87 aboard and was hijacked over Wilson Creek, Ney. Lintz said all aboard were treated well and she remained safe. the hijacker was described as a Black man armed with a gun and knife. The flight went 2700 miles nonstop to Cuba as Lintz’s New York–Californi a routes work base.
