Plane Wreckage Kills Minister Family In Ill Crash
Six people died when a single engine Piper Comanche crashed while returning from a church conference. Victims include Rev Harold Sheriff and his wife Virginia, their daughter Hall, and Nancy Beckett with her son William and her niece Joanna Wolfsberg. Investigators said the plane vanished Wednesday after leaving Cedar Rapids bound for Decatur. Hall Sheriff was a noted gymnast and Olympic potential, with the community in shock. Two farm youths found the wreckage Thursday morning.
