Des Moines officials announced the midwest's largest trailer camp will be laid out at the Iowa Staterair next August. The event accompanies the second annual Midwest Trailer Reunion and the first Midwest Trailer Gnow, a new attraction of the exposition.
Frank Milea editor of the Iowa Legionaire launches a third attack on Governor Nels G. Kraschel calling him anti American. He accuses the governor of not giving Legion members due consideration in appointments while denying the claims.
Des Monés-With monthly liquor receipts show May sales at 732,564 across Iowa’s 12 stores. Manley says 1937 liquor sales may reach near 8,000,000 and total year growth could exceed 1,500,000 over 1996, despite Des Moines’ pace trailing Des Moines’ 744,451 target.
Des Moines reports that at least one rural school in each of Iowa's four counties met the standard set by the state superintendent's office and will receive state aid. Miss Agnes Samuel On announced that 2,526 schools are eligible, totaling $90,952 in aid or about $2.11 per student for 42,620 pupils.
The state conservation commission reports strong spring fishing with walleyes and bullheads as popular catches. Stream fishing has improved and the Wapsipiniesi river in Johnson County has provided many anglers their full daily limits of fish.

Amelia Earhart Putnam landed at Calcutta after a 1490 mile hop from Karachi, completing another leg of her globe encircling equatorial flight. The arrival occurred this afternoon, and she completed the segment in eight hours 21 minutes.
Ten thousand fans gathered outside Wilshire Methodist Church while stars Gena Raymond and Jeanette McDonald married inside. Police struggled to control the crowd and traffic was snarled for over an hour as the ceremony drew immense public attention.
Des Moines June 17 Grant L Caswell of Ames former executive secretary of the Iowa Press association was appointed by Governor N G Kraschel to the state printing board succeeding W P Casey of Knoxville.
Under Secretary Roswell McGill told a joint congressional committee investigating income tax evasion that stopgaps to avoid cash evasion should be adopted. He promised to submit names of evaders later.
Jacob Hininger, 62, of Sharon, died in a local hospital from internal injuries after a wagon crushed him yesterday. The incident occurred near a farm site in Iowa City and authorities investigated the cause of the accident.
Dr. W. R. Kinzer of Grinnell gave the clinic on Prosthetics at the regular monthly meeting of the Washington County Dental Society last evening. Following dinner at the North Side cafe, the group met in the office rooms of Dr. O. F. Roller. Ten dentists were present.
Mrs Lola Wells Mughes of Milwaukee hosts visitors Mrs Harold Powe and her children Ben and Debra from Chicago arriving Tuesday for a week long visit with Mrs Elmer Wells in Milwaukee.

In Crawfordsville the high school auditorium hosted a two act historical pageant "A Hundred Years Ago" depicting early Crawfordsville Methodist church history. The show, directed by Miss Alberta Cochran, featured figures such as Adam Ritchey and Matthew Moorhead, the first homesteaders, and the 1837 wedding performed from an 100 year old Methodist book. The program included the church’s first quarterly meeting led by Rev. Henry Summers and Rev. J. Shook with Coppock women attending by boat. Homecoming Day closed the centennial observance.
Trinity Lutheran church will host a three week daily vacation Bible school from 9 to 12 each weekday starting next Monday with teachers Rev. T. Meibohm and Mrs. Aubrey Ostrus. A July 4 outdoor service with Washington and Wellman Lutherans is set, featuring morning sermon at 10 30 and a noon picnic dinner followed by a 3 30 vesper service led by Rev. W. H. Krueger. J T Ostrus heads arrangements.
Water service was temporarily disrupted this afternoon as workers performed necessary repairs. The interruption lasted a short time while crews addressed the issue and restored normal supply.
Washington D C June 17 AP Charles Taft of Ohio joins Lloyd K Garrison and Ward F McGrady on a federal mediation board appointed by Labor Secretary Frances Perkins to investigate hearings and possibly arbitrate the steel strike The panel will operate from Cleveland and aims to find a basis for settlement with Roosevelt approval. Ohio Governor Davey appeals to the president for federal mediation as the strike spreads to eight or ten states.
Riverside California June 17 The noted screen and state comedian W C Mields furious over a court ruling that he must pay 12000 dollars as a fee to a doctor says he will seek a new trial and appeal to the US Supreme Court if needed.
Governor Kraschel authorized a private survey of Iowa's four insane hospitals at Mt Pleasant Clarinda Independence and Cherokee and the facilities for the feeble minded at Glenwood and Woodward. Adequacy of staff doctors and nurses and their training and attitude will be examined along with equipment while patients will not be examined.
Reports from Kansas City to Mr. and Mrs. J. Rothachild indicate their daughter Mrs. Ira Gastman is attaining improved condition. Her sister Mrs. Harry Margo is with her in Yankton, S. Dek.
