Stanley Bean family expresses gratitude to the Ainsworth Fire Department and all who assisted during the fire and to friends and relatives for prayers cards flowers and gifts during hospitalization at Mercy Hospital.
Maynard B. Doole Hites, recently resigned executive vice president of Harper and Row publishers in Evanston Illinois, has had a portrait hung in the company's board room. Born and reared in Ainsworth he previously taught school before joining the firm and led the elementary and high school division. Artist Bruno Beghe of Wilmette Illinois painted the portrait.
A family night ice cream social is planned by Marion Avenue United Presbyterian Church members for Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Sunset Park, rain location is the church. Families are asked to contribute homemade ice cream if possible, or cookies pie or cake. Coffee and drinks provided. attendees bring their own table service. Mr and Mrs Jack Trotman chair the committee.
The DAR met at the Sun set Park log cabin for Flag Day observances. Guests from VFW and Legion Auxiliaries attended. Miss Carol Forgey presided. readings on the flag and U.S. seals were shared, followed by a cooperative supper.
Dismissed today are Mrs Joe Berry of Muscatine Mrs Mary Snider of Washington Mrs James Edwards of Washington Glenn Wilson of Washington and Mrs Charles Harvey of Washington.
Funeral services for Orley L Page were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Woeste in charge. Pallbearers were D A Huber, H L Walker, Lester Grim, Earl Berkshire, Frank Rathmel and Don Wylie. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery.
