In September 1937 the district court of Iowa Washington County hears the case Dusenbery v Wilder et al. Plaintiff Harry A Dusenbery sues multiple defendants including Barnabus Wilder Emma Wilder John S Beatty Mrs Beatty Henry H Beatty Elisabeth Beatty William Dusenbery Walter Austin and others in a civil action.
Westbound Train No 3 departs Washington at 9 58 a m and Train 25 leaves Washington Southwest Limited at 1 30 a m with service notes for local and southwest routes.
A long list of names including Luther Torry Luther Torrey Sarah Torrey James M Wilson Sarah J Wilson and many Dusenberys Melicks Scofields and Sams ons. Columbus Junction reports the death of John Boke a former resident who died Thursday at his South Head residence after a brief illness. Funeral services were held in Chicago. Survived by two daughters Mrs Daniel Merkel and Mrs Charles Hazen both of Chicago a son Floyd Boke also of Chicago and three sisters Mrs Kate Biery Mrs Belle Fien and others.
Notice of petition by plaintiff Baldrige and Batley seeks to quiet title to described real estate in fee simple and establish a cattle pass easement along Section 29 and 28 in Township 76 North Iowa. Defendants and unknown claimants are warned to appear by September 1937 term. failure to respond will lead to default and judgment.
The Bliven family held its annual reunion at Columbus Chautauqua Park, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Nathan and Lucinda Wheelock Bliven arriving in the area from Bolivar New York by river routes. Descendants include Albert Hiram Bliven Rosetta Dixson Esther Pease Elizabeth Todd and James R Todd with Sophia Gelatt in attendance. William Todd formerly operated a ferry on the Iowa River before the first bridge and Toddtown remains the north part of Columbus Junction.
