A Cambridge Minnesota driver Milton C Olsen lost headlights after dimming, striking a bridge abutment on highway 21 near Crawfordsville Saturday at 11 p.m. Injured were Gary Phelphs of Palo with chest and rib injuries Mina Joe Woods and Marcella Kay Barbers of Cedar Rapids with lacerations. All were admitted to Washington County Hospital for treatment and released.

Washington County Fair Association officers were elected Marion Augustine as president Cloud Willits as vice president Milo Orris as secretary and treasurer and eight directors named for three year terms Honorary life member Bruce Cowden designated Holdover directors listed plus ongoing members. The group approved purchasing a 20 by 15 foot building for animal exhibit dressing and washing near the hog barn and noted all fair exhibit spaces are sold for this year.
