Mere Eglise to Omaha Beach and shares reflections on heroism and future peace. The program aired in the United States and 19 countries with French network cutting excerpts after negotiations. The former commander notes the role of weather decisions, sergeant Culin and personal memories of the invasion. Ankara reports a Turkish invasion fleet stood by while Premier Inonu considers a Washington visit after President Johnson invited him for talks. Gen. Lemnitzer held talks in Ankara with Inonu and Turkish leaders amid U S pressure for peaceful resolution of the Cyprus crisis. Hurriyet cites a government member saying American intervention prevented a landing.
Minnie Bradford 94 died Friday June 5 964 at Longs Nursing Home Lebanon after living in Washington until 1949. Graveside rites set Monday at 10 am at Elm Grove with Rev Carlyle Smith presiding. Survivors include son Virnus of Belton Missouri and eight other descendants.
A proposed nine member commission to establish high ethical standards for teachers would be appointed by the governor and funded by teachers.
