Officials Seek to Avert Western Union Strike
Washington officials report continued talks between Western Union and unions to avert a strike involving 34 000 workers. CTU seeks 15 cents per hour raise over two years plus 5 cents in benefits and 7 cents for certain jobs with an August start. ACA represents 4 000 in New York City.
