Funeral services for Mrs James Redd Held at A M E Church
Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at the A M E church with Rev P A Jackson in charge. Pallbearers included Henry Rhodes James Turner Theodore Turner Nate Black W A Watts and Hayes Crayton. Burial followed at Elm Grove cemetery. A national statistic notes over twenty two million people moved in the United States last year, a 10.3 percent increase from the prior year.

Capt Charles Lindbergh arrived at Lessay airfield outside Cherbourg on the Paris to United States leg of his return. The Memphis cruiser carried him to Washington with orders to reach the capital by June 11, and carried a cake replica of his plane for the crew.

Lightning Kills Youth at Brighton
Seven year old Robert Morgan, son of Ed Morgan, section foreman, was killed when lightning struck the kitchen of his grandparents home in Brighton yesterday evening around 6 10. The bolt tore clothing and caused extensive damage while non fatal shocks affected two sisters. The strike damaged the room and nearby structures with reports of a second tree hit four blocks away and a neighboring home lightly damaged. The boy had been living with his grandparents since his mother’s death six years ago.
