Flames engulfed a storage building backing Keota business blocks causing about 150000 dollars in damage. Firefighters from five communities fought the blaze for hours, with smoke damage reported in adjacent homes as investigators examined the scene and a state marshal visited Sunday.

Riverside man Glenn Younkin dies after stroke
Glenn A. Younkin, 50, of Riverside died Saturday at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a stroke. Funeral held at Trinity Methodist Church in Riverside with Rev. Gilbert C. McDowell officiating. Born October 22, 1913, he was a retired mail clerk and meat cutter. Survived by wife Irene Evans, son Deight Glenn, daughter Joyce Irene Evans, mother and two brothers Harold and Verne. World War II air force veteran and Trinity Methodist member.

Four die on Iowa highways during Memorial weekend
Four persons were killed in Iowa traffic accidents over the Memorial Holiday weekend and another died of injuries from a mishap last week. The fatalities raised the 1964 Iowa toll to 276, 65 more than through May 31 last year. Linus Edward Mierotto, rural West Point, died Sunday at Fort Madison hospital from injuries in an accident last Thursday when his truck skidded on a Lee County gravel road three miles northwest of West Point and overturned. Earlier Sunday, Sue Ann Spletzer, 19, Mountain View California, was killed and her husband Carl William Spletzer, 21, injured when their car crossed the center line and hit a truck driven by Ronald Lee McConnell, 18, Botha. The mishap occurred on U S 30 three miles east of Clarence in Cedar County.
