Inventor uses salad oil to fuel car in Texas
Richard Clem, a Dallas city worker and amateur inventor, claims his engine runs on vegetable oil, not gasoline, potentially cutting fuel needs and reducing emissions. His red car uses a seven stage pump and converter to power the engine, with a 12 volt battery for starting and lights. He envisions larger versions powering ships, aircraft, and even cities, and plans a 600 mile test to El Paso to prove the concept.
