Washington County Fair opens with Miss Washington County 1966
Large crowds attended the Washington County Fair opening night. Miss Peggy Grimes of Keota won Miss Washington County 1966 as 4H and FFA entries, livestock, garden displays and talent events drew many visitors. Helicopter rides, a parachute jump by a local veteran, and a Kiwanis sponsored talent show highlighted activities with cattle, horses, and dairy judging ongoing. Political candidates visited the grounds as activities continued through Thursday with concerts, parades, and a free barbecue climax.

Home Health Aid Service Extended in Washington County
The Washington County CAP board voted to extend the home health aid program to the county. Mrs. Smith outlined cooperative work with aging citizen programs and said service would cover all residents.
