New Discovery Challenges Old Theories on Body Tissue Aging

New evidence questions programmed aging by showing aged bone marrow precursor cells from moribund mice can function in younger and even older hosts. Dr. D. E. Harrison at Jackson Laboratory transplanted these cells across mice lifespans, achieving high cure rates for anemia and maintaining cellular function beyond original expectancy. The results imply aging is not uniform across tissues and challenge the idea of a universal aging program.
