Awards honored top floats including Wayne's Workshop Riverside second and Weimer Gerot Float third with many others receiving honorable mentions and placings in horse and walking categories.

About 100 Iowa National Guardsmen en route to Camp Ripley for summer training aided flood relief in Little Falls Minnesota. They sandbagged roads, dug relief ditches, and saved at least two residents from the waters. The units included 224th Engineers Battalion and 248th Aviation Battalion, praised by Little Falls Mayor Kenneth Floyd.
