The Senate Intelligence Committee decided not to call former President Richard M. Nixon as a witness in its CIA assassination plots inquiry. A staff spokesman said Nixon might later be asked to testify or provide a deposition on other intelligence matters. Chairman Frank Church had said the panel was considering Nixon for his role in the Bay of Pigs planning as vice president.
