Man Dies After Eating Largest Meal at Local Diner
In Des Moines a man walked into Mack's Quick Lunch and demanded the biggest meal. He ate heartily, rose to leave, and suddenly collapsed dead. Mae Mellrath, the person in charge, served him as requested. The incident ended with the man's death shortly after finishing the meal.

Policeman Gets Term for Stealing Chickens
J. E. Middleton of Woolstock pleaded guilty to larceny of poultry and was sentenced by District Judge C. J. Henderson to months in jail and a $500 fine. Middleton, a poultry buyer and Woolstock policeman, admitted taking 24 chickens from Mrs Frakes in Woolstock.

Police Protect WPA Workers in Minneapolis and St Paul
