South Korean urges widespread bombing of North Korea

South Korea’s CIS official Lee Byung Doo urged the United States to retaliate for the Pueblo hijacking by bombing many North Korean cities to prevent invasion. He warned that targeting only Wonsan would not stop a North Korean push across the DMZ. Lee noted such strikes might provoke a entry of North Korea against the USS Enterprise and said his view was personal. About 100,000 Seoul residents protested the Pueblo seizure and called for punishment of Kim Il Sung.
