Spread Eagle School No 10 Story of a Rural Iowa Classroom

The Spread Eagle School No 10 in Washington township traces its origin to 1899 with first director J. W. Weeks and later John McClelland. Chronicles recount mischief by older pupils, such as attic pranks and a rabbit hunt interrupted by a school dismissal, plus serious injury from an arrow incident. The 1939-40 period saw equipment upgrades including a new floor and desks, while notable alumni and teachers are listed.
