Terrace Hill: Iowa Governor Mansion Proposal Emerges
Des Moines story notes Terrace Hill is proposed as the governor’s mansion after the Hubbell heirs transferred the 16,000 square foot mansion to the state in 1971. A Terrace Hill Planning Commission urges restoration for official and public use, with living quarters on upper floors and first floor preserved for state functions.
