In Columbus Junction on January 10 Martha Butler reports the Midway Sales company pavilions hosted a series sale where 108 horses were sold. A pair of six and seven year old sorrel mares brought $156, while a pair of seven year old black mares also drew attention.
Wednesday at the Midway Sales company pavilion the stock sale drew buyers for various livestock. Young sound horses fetched lower prices while shippers bought more aged and unserviceable animals. Beef cows and heiferettes sold around 15.50 to 17.75, with yearling fleshy cattle noted but not priced in the readable text.
Weekly Friday sale at Whittaker sale barn and multiple livestock sales across Iowa towns including Columbus Junction Kalona Ollie Dublin and Washington with starting times around 11:00 to 1:39 and dates in January. Secured by multiple auction firms such as Midway Kalona Ollie Bexge Smith Nicholson & Sons and Smith & Glenn.
