A reported con artist toured the city yesterday asking for three cents to buy a square meal, then left last evening after Sheriff Teeter drove him out. He claimed Hastings Nebraska as his home and knew Mr Ballard, using the plea to gain 2 3 dollars daily from passing crowds.

A city resident publicized concerns over a vagrant tale teller who claimed work as a blacksmith and tried to borrow money from Sitlar and A Houk before asking S A White of the First National Bank for funds to reach Mediapolis. White advised him to buy a ticket and walk the rest. If he remains he should be removed.

Hunt's Comedy Co staged Mable Heath in five acts before a large Graham audience. The company drew growing crowds each night, with strong notice for the Caufman family and the overall repertoire quality.
