The Hunt Comedy Co will present the comedy drama Mabel Heath tonight with reserved seats at 10c. Tickets go on sale at Harvey & Warfel's and Wilson's Opera House box office. A matinee is planned Saturday afternoon with Peek's Bad Boy rumored. Baby Sproul visits Wayland as Mrs Sproull recovers.

tragedy shocks Iowa community as daughter shoots self

In Riverside Iowa yesterday morning Lizzie Knotek aged 18 or so shot herself with a revolver in the family home six miles south of town. She had been keeping company with a man from Lone Tree and her mother reportedly opposed marriage to a younger suitor. A note is not yet opened and coroners have not been called. Separately a wandering man asked for meals on credit then allegedly cashed in by robbing several eateries, prompting local authorities to intervene.

Capt. Crawford the Poet Scout Heats Up Hotel Allen Night

Capt Captain Jack Crawford known as The Poet Scout stayed as a guest at Hotel Allen. The former chief of scouts in U S army spoke of his life and his four years as a justice department special agent. He travels for charity entertainments and literary work before moving to Keota and Burlington Vermont. William Wilson Jr. left for Cedar Rapids on business.

Kalona Christian Society Pledges 825 for Silk Quilt Fund

The Christian Society of Kalona pledged 825 for a religious cause. To raise the amount, the ladies made a fine silk quilt and arranged for a New York store to dispose of it. J. Zeck of West Chester was in the city today and returned on the morning passenger.

A party of Iowa editors will travel to Galveston for the National Editorial association meeting on February 19. Delegates include Colonel and Mrs. Albert W. Wayland Man Bound Over for Manslaughter in Oskaloosa

Geo Netterfield, a Wayland youth, was bound over to the grand jury on a manslaughter charge for the killing of Joe Golightly in Oskaloosa. Friends say his attorneys seek acquittal on self defense grounds.

Hunt Comedy Co Stages Mixed Pickles In Strong Attendance

Last night Hunt Comedy Co played to the largest crowd of the week with Mixed Pickles described as Kilt-edged. Tickets priced at 10e drew growing crowds as each performance improves. Tonight the company presents Mable Heath a five act play with new cast members including Grace Lannpingham who returned home on No 16 from a visit with her mother.
