South Vietnamese troops suffer fire from American helicopter
An American helicopter opened fire on South Vietnamese troops in the Central Highlands killing one soldier and wounding five. Another U.S. helicopter was shot down in the same area, wounding its three crewmen. South Vietnamese forces crossed into eastern Cambodia after B52 raids on North Vietnamese positions. A Communist radio broadcast urged the 95B regiment to move west into Cambodia as airlifted South Vietnamese units joined the action.
