A Memphis passenger train derailed three miles north of Thayer Missouri when a spike on the rail caused the wreck. The engine overturned and both the engineer and fireman were slightly hurt. Passengers were unharmed.
D. S. Beatly presented the annual report to the board of Supervisors. The inmate count ranged from 14 to 31 with an average of 26, and the cost per person averaged 94 cents per week, noted as the lowest in the county farm’s history while inmates received ample food and attention.
