Mrs. R. H. Clyde Rites Set After Long Service
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 at 409 North Avenue B for Mrs. R H Clyde with Dr F C Witzigman presiding. Burial in Elm Grove cemetery. Mrs Clyde died at 9:25 last night after a paralytic stroke on December 22. Born Elizabeth Louise Brown in New Jersey she moved to Washington as a child and married Robert H Clyde in 1872. She led the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society and the local W C T U, serving as president and treasurer respectively, and taught a long-running Bible class.

Jerry Kelly left Iowa City by train for Des Moines to begin a stenographic job in the office of the new secretary of state Mrs. Ales Miller. He previously stenographed for Miller in town, and has prior experience at Ainsworth bank, Busby Manufacturing, and in commercial training at Washington High School. His family accompanied him to Iowa City for the sendoff.

Council Lowers Washington Road Poll Tax
