Fred Stalder Dies At Home In Washington County
Fred Stalder 60 a farmer living nine miles east of Washington died at his home this morning after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 o clock at St James Catholic church with Rev R J Kinnavey in charge. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Tuesday at the Stalder home. Burial will be Elm Grove cemetery Zehr Funeral Home of Wayland in charge. He was born October 15 1889 in Switzerland to John and Magdalene Shoemaker Stalder and came to this country as a child. He married Emma Kaufman April 17 1917. Survivors include his widow two daughters Mrs John Stauffer and Mrs Ralph Bain both of Wayland three brothers Emil Otto of Washington and Joe Stalder of East Pleasant Plain two sisters Mrs Joe Shelangoski of East Pleasant Plain and Mrs Antone Kauffman of Washington and six grandchildren. One daughter Elsie preceded him in death.
